UK based battery cell manufacturer Volklec has announced a strategic partnership with Unipart, one of the country’s most established supply chain and logistics specialists. The collaboration represents a critical step in Volklec’s mission to establish sovereign UK battery cell manufacturing and ensure resilient, world class supply chains for the nation’s electrification future.
As part of the partnership, Unipart will provide comprehensive logistics, storage, testing and triage services for Volklec’s advanced lithium-ion battery cells. Leveraging Unipart’s 610,000 sq ft Honeybourne Specialist Warehouse in Evesham, Worcestershire and its certified global transport network, the partnership ensures secure, compliant, and optimised handling of Volklec’s cells, including State of Charge (SoC) management, temperature-controlled storage and detailed state-of-health assessments.
For Volklec, working with Unipart provides greatly increases its operational strength while scaling its UK manufacturing operations. The partnership allows Volklec to focus on its core mission of producing high-energy, high-power battery cells for the automotive, aerospace, marine and off-highway sectors, while ensuring its customers benefit from a more robust, trusted and transparent supply chain.
